Le Labo City Exclusives

Le Labo City ExclusivesRejoice, Le Labo fans. It’s that time of the year once again!

Starting 1 September 2014 until 30th September 2014, Le Labo offers its City Exclusives in all of their boutiques, on their e-store, and on select boutiques around the globe. You no longer have to endure long haul flights just to get your favorite Tubereuse 40 from New York, or the Gaiac 10 from Tokyo.

You can get all these, including their newest City Exclusive Benjoin 19 (Moscow):

Gaiac 10 (Tokyo)
Vanille 44 (Paris)
Tubereuse 40 (New York)
Poivre 23 (London)
Musc 25 (Los Angeles)
Limette 37 (San Francisco)
Baie Rose 26 (Chicago)
Cuir 28 (Dubai)

I personally applaud this kind of ‘compromise’ as it is a win-win situation, for the brand, and for the consumer. Le Labo can maintain some degree of exclusivity to some of its creations, but at the same time, Le Labo also offers a chance for fans, perfumistas, or consumers, to try exclusive creations without having to travel. Trust me, there is nothing more frustrating than reading rave reviews on a perfume and not having access to it because you are on the opposite side of the globe.

So, go online and get those City Exclusive you’ve been wanting to try. And when you get to empty those bottles, be sure to keep them as they are refillable at the NYC, London, Paris, SF and LA boutiques all year round.

Friday Wrap! Glam Rock, City Exclusives, & Freebies

Yay! It’s weekend once again!

But before you go on partying, club hopping, or resto hopping, here’s a roundup of select perfume news.  Paco Rabanne releases a limited edition flanker of Paco Rabanne XS, Black XS L’Aphrodisiaque. Featuring bottles of matte black and gold, with touches of skulls and spikes, it is definitely very glam rock.

As for the juice, it is composed of, among others, saffron, cinnamon, honey, musk, leather for the masculine version, and bitter oranges, neroli, peach, vanilla,  amber, among others, for the feminine version.

Also in the news, Le Labo, once again offers samples of its City Exclusives online, or in stores, starting today. On September 1, it will offer City Exclusives full bottles online and in stores, including the most recent  Cuir 28 from Dubai and Limette  37 from San Francisco. It will only run for 6 weeks.

It is an opportunity to sample the City Exclusives without having to travel to all those cities. I’m eyeing a sample of the Tuberouse 40 from NY and Gaiac 10 from Tokyo.

Last but not the least, Fresh Fragrance Bar extended its promotion of free Porche Design premium items for a minimum of Php 3000.00 qualified purchase. So, if you’re a fan of Porche design, go grab a bottle at Fresh Fragrance Bar now! Promo is extended until August 15, 2013.

Friday Wrap: Goodbye Le Labo Aldehyde 44, Hello Oh My George!

Le Labo Aldehyde 44

Le Labo Aldehyde 44

The biggest news in fragrance world this week was perhaps the phasing out of Le Labo Aldehyde 44.

Le Labo Aldehyde 44 is a Dallas City exclusive, and not available online or in other Le Labo stores. Aldehyde 44, they say, is a wonderful fragrance though it is far from the most famous aldehyde, Chanel No. 5.

Le Labo said that the phasing out of the perfume is due to the closing of the store that carries it, Barneys New York in Dallas. Those already with a bottle, however, will continue to enjoy refills through other Le Labo stores.

Here in Manila, on the other hand, another celebu-scent debuts!

Bench, the local leader on celebrity fronted scents releases Oh My George! by Georgina Wilson. I haven’t seen nor smelt it yet but I am guessing it is a light fruity floral given that Georgina once mentioned Jo Malone & Chanel Chance as her scent essentials.
